How the Institute intends to resource its work, and how funds are governed, disbursed and reported.
Conflict of interest & compensation
The President of the Institute agrees to disclose to the Board any situation in which conflicting duties to other entities may arise. Where such a conflict exists, the President withdraws from debate and voting on the matter, as directed by the Board. All transactions with any Director are approved by impartial decision-makers.
Compensation for Board members, or for any individual in excess of USD 50,000, is approved and documented in advance, recorded in writing by each Board member, and benchmarked using compensation data from similarly-situated organizations.
How funds will be used
Financing Micro Projects
Grants and loans to impoverished men and women, mainly in developing countries, to support financial self-sufficiency — including technological tools such as computers and related training.
Financing of Institute Activities
All activities described throughout this site will be budgeted accordingly and reported against.
Establishing the Foundation & Running Costs
Investment and running costs of the Institute’s headquarters and regional arms — advisors, staff, materials, publications, and conference infrastructure.
Scholarships & Grants
Initially in the range of USD 500–1,000, awarded to disadvantaged individuals for study or micro-enterprise activity, subject to a documented letter of interest and demonstrated commitment.
Annual Budget
To be published following Board approval.
Sources of Funding
Foundations, individual donors and grant-making institutions, disclosed as agreements are finalized.
Independent Financial Review
Third-party financial reporting to be published on an annual basis.
